11 students from the English Smartpet program visited Terezin for the day. Once again this day provided us with some beautiful weather, very sunny and warm. We travelled by bus and started at the Terezin Museum where we watched a video about life there during the German occupation. After this we walked around the old ghetto area and visited the accommodation block, Magdeburg Barracks, crematorium and Jewish cemetary. After lunch we walked to the small fortress, about 1 kilometre away, that was used as a prison by the Germans during the second world war. Again, it was a sad part of Czech history but an important part and we were interested in the visit as it provided us with a great source of education using the English language.
